Efficiency Testing of Proof of Principle Unit
Patents
Development
The Proof of Principle device was tested repeatedly for efficiency by mechanically measuring  Power In (Torque x RPM input) divided by Power Out (Torque x RPM output).
Torque was measured with load cells located a known distance from the axis of rotation. RPM was measured with a tachometer.
Electrical power into the electrical motor versus electrical  power  out of the alternator (later a generator) were also measured for order of magnitude. These values did not contribute to estimates of transmission efficiency due to losses in the power train external to the transmission.
The best estimate for the Proof of Principle Efficiency is  88.95%
