Proof of Principle
The illustration at left is a solid model of an early unit designed to implement the concept of a Controlled Epicyclic Gear mechanism as described in the patent.  Reverse through Neutral to Forward speed was demonstrated with the rotary power source opeating at constant speed and direction.
The model at the right is an early design for low horsepower applications.  A flat belt was utilized in this model to allow for higher torque than possible with round belts.
This is a picture of the first Proof of Principle prototype. This design can accommodate torques and speeds associated with 15 hp applications.  The patented Torque Following mechanism was proven with this device.
